Doctors, Doctors and more Doctors!

Guess what!?! Parker is still short! Not suprising. He is 35 inches tall and 27 pounds. He is in the 4th percentile for height and 6th for weight. Overall everything looks good. They still want to monitor his growth just like every appointment. We need to do a little work on him saying and making the sound of letter "s". He got a shot and a finger prick, he wasn't happy about that at all. I think he learned how to freak out from his big sister. It was hilarious and sad at the same time. We have to go back next week for both Parker and Brynn's second H1N1 shots and Brynn's ear recheck. I'm making sure Chris can go with me now that we know both of them will freak out.
Brynn's appointment at the Asthma and Allergy Associates was pretty good. I was worried about how she was going to handle the testing. They did forty scratch tests on her back. Which didn't bother her much. It was more of a skin poke. She didn't react to any of those except their control which she's supposed to. Her back had a huge welt and was really red around it. Then they came in and said they wanted to do the second part of the testing which involved eight under the skin shots in her arm. Considering how she reacted to her h1N1 shot a month ago I wasn't sure how this was going to work. Amazingly she sat there and let them do each one and didn't cry, didn't freak out, just watched them do it. She ended up reacting to two of the things. The nurse came in and looked at them and said well she's definitely allergic to.... wait for it.... CATS and Mold. Go figure. She's allergic to her favorite animal of all time. The doctor came in and told us we didn't have to get rid of the cat just yet. We don't need to turn her world upside down. She said to just not let the cat in her room, wash her hands after she pets the cat, no long loving on the cat and to keep the house really clean. They started her on an inhaler again since she was able to do it fine, we got our own nebulizer for when she's sick. They suggested we buy air purifiers for the house.

This morning we... I mean Chris started deep cleaning the house. It is very obvious that the landlord lied to us when she said the house had been professionally cleaned before we moved in. So, the cleaning has begun. We decided we'll throw out her old bedding and get her a new quilt for her room and buy those air purifiers. So off to shopping we'll go!

On another note, yesterday Brynn's teacher pulled me aside when I was picking her up and said she thinks Brynn needs to go to the eye doctor. She was just there about two months ago and the doctor had said she was near sighted but, that she should be fine for awhile without glasses. Her teacher said she's having trouble seeing the board and they moved her to the front of the room yesterday and it was a bit better. So, tomorrow we are going to the eye doctor again for a recheck. I tell ya, if it isn't one thing it's another!!!
