In the waiting room
All dressed and happy again
Waking up
Parker's wristband
This sucks!
Please just make it stop hurting
And crashed out.
At home snuggling with Mom
One popsicle down 400 hundred to go
Not feeling too hot
Another popsicle and hoping to start feeling better soon!!!
His surgery went well. We arrived at the surgery center at 7:00. He was scheduled for 8:00. Parker didn't act nervous at all. Chris and I think he didn't have any idea of what was about to happen other than he was going to go to sleep. The nurse took us back to get him ready. She asked a bajillion questions, then handed us a gown with cute little tigers on it, a pair of blue booties and a white hairnet. Let's just say Parker was less than pleased to have to get out of his star wars jammies and into the tiger gown. We did get him changed with only a little resistance.
His doctor came and talked to us. The. The anesthilogist came and talked to us and told Parker what he was going to do. Then they wheeled him off. Parker was totally cool with it all. They got him into surgery at exactly 8:00. Chris and I went out to the waiting room. At 8:50 Dr. Rosen came out and said he was all finished. Surgery went great and we'd be able to go back in a few minutes. He came back and got us. It was a flashback to when Brynn had her surgery there. He was in the same recovery room as Brynn was, he was waking up the same way as Brynn did. Luckily we already knew what to expect. He was sitting up in the bed screaming and moving around like the girl on the exorcist. Brynn was more Hulk like and Parker was possessed. They asked who wanted to sit in the chair and hold him. I decided I would but, figured it would be when he calmed down more like they did when Brynn went through it. Nope. They handed me a flipping and flopping possessed Hulk of a child. It took me, Chris and the nurse to kee him from climbing over my head or falling on the floor. He has some strong muscles in that little body. He finally woke up more after about fifteen more minutes and was a crying mess, all he wanted was to get out of there. They discharged us pretty quick.
We got in the car to drive back to Chico. He cried for about ten minutes and fell back to sleep. He slept most of the way home. He laid around for the rest of the day. He did ok the next day too as long as he had his pain medication. Then came the stiff neck and headaches that I remember from Brynn's surgery. I was hoping he wouldn't have that since its not very common to have. Well here we are four days after surgery and the headaches and stiff neck are in full force. He is in a lot of pain. We have been giving him the Tylenol with codeine every four hours and it starts wearing off at about two hours so we have had a lot of crying and not a lot of sleep the past two days. He's been laying in my bed all day today and was on the couch most of yesterday. I sure hope he perks up soon and starts feeling better. He's not eating anything so I'm sure that's not helping things either. I'll keep you all posted.
