ENT visit

Both kids had their appointments with the ENT yesterday. Parker saw the audiologist for a hearing test then we saw Dr. Rosen. His hearing is perfect so, that was nice to see. Parker looked good with everything. The only thing we are watching on him is that after his surgery when he drinks liquid it comes out his nose occasionally. Dr. Rosen said that can happen and it will normally correct itself and as long as it isn't happening everytime he drinks it should be ok. Pretty cool trick though I must say. He doesn't have to go back for six months.

Then Miss Brynn. She has been having a lot of symptoms in the last few months that made us believe the thing in her sinus had grown. Dr. Rosen looked her over. The thing hasn't grown out to where it's obstructing her airway yet but, it was concerning to him that she was having a sensation of something being in the back of her throat and the feeling of vomiting. He wanted us to start another steriod spray in additon to her sinus rinses and the other spray and we he sent us over to the hospital for a CT scan to see how much it has grown. Once that was done we went back to his office and we looked at it together. It has grown, it's doubled in size since we did the CT scan in November but, it's not blocking the airway so we are still holding off on doing surgery on it until then. He said it's about the size it was the last time we decided to operate on it and it had grown into the airway by the time the surgery date had come about which was two months. He said we are probably looking at surgery sometime this next school year if it keeps growing the way it is. We are just buying time so that hopefully we don't have to keep doing surgery so close together.We go back in September to check on it again.
