So long ago....

Sorry it's been so long. We've had a lot going on and honestly I was avoiding sitting down and typing. So, here we go.
We had Halloween, both kids had parties at their schools so, we managed to make it to both of them to help out. Brynn was a witch and Parker was Darth Vader.
We had Thanksgiving. We went up to Humboldt to visit family. We had a great time seeing everyone.
We sold our house in McKinleyville to my brother and his wife and we bought our house in Chico.

We moved into the new house the week before Christmas. The kids finished up at their schools, had their holiday parties and we loaded the moving truck and headed for Chico.
Now a little on the kids.
Parker has been doing really well with his preschool. He has started to write some letters of the alphabet which is something I probably could've never got him to do. So, he's doing great that way. He loves his Transformers, taking things apart, playing with Brynn when she'll let him, and doing anything that makes a mess. He is all boy. It's hard to believe he'll be four years old in a week and a half. Where is the time going.
Brynn is doing great with school. We had her parent teacher conference in November and she was above grade level for all areas, especially reading and spelling. She loves to read and write. She is still an crazy little cat lady and would have a hundred if we would allow it. Not happening since we are having a hard time keeping the one we have with all Brynn's health issues.

On to her health... in November I requested that we redo her bloodwork on her strep/pneumo titers that we did back in June and the revaccinated her since her levels were so low. They were up in July and on this last retest they had dropped significantly. Her allergy/immunologist doctor requested we go see an infectious disease doctor and get a second opinion from another ENT at Stanford just for peace of mind. We saw the infectious disease doctor the end of November and she decided at this point she doesn't think there is anything going on that direction although we may revisit that area later on. We saw the ENT at Stanford the beginning of December and he decided that we would do a repeat CT scan and then he'd give his opinion on what is going on. We had the scan done and went back yesterday for the results. It was very shocking. Her left sinus looks just as bad if not worse than before her surgery in July. The doctor said that she has what looks like a mucous seal which is not allowing her sinus to drain properly and that there is a cyst in her maxillary sinus which is growing and distorting her sinus. So, he said it has to come out. Surgery is scheduled for the end of February. We asked if this was something we were going to have to do over and over and he said, he really can't speak for Brynn's other ENT on how the surgery was done but, he will guarantee his work and will get everything out but, he can't guarantee Brynn's healing process and that it could be part of her biology that's causing this. Hopefully not. Anyway, Chris and I felt good with this doctor, he's been doing this type of surgery for over 30 years and he actually trained Brynn's last doctor during his residency. He said her last doctor is a great doctor and surgeon but, he can't say for sure that everything was cleaned out of her sinus since he wasn't there. We are hoping this will be the final surgery and we won't have to do this again ever!
On better things, we got moved into the new house and so far we love it here. The house is great, the area seems wonderful, much better than the busy busy bay area. Chris has been off work for two weeks so we've all been home which has been great. He heads back to work on Monday. Brynn starts school here on Monday. I haven't found a preschool yet for Parker but, I have one in mind. I'm going to be getting my butt out and running again after a few weeks off from the chaos of the move and the flu.

I promise to be a better blogger and not ignore it this long again!
